PCB assembly is a complex method of populating a bare PCB with electronic components as a pre-requisite in making a functional electronic/electrical product. Automatic placement

Automatic placement is the process of placing an electronic component one by one on a PCB deposited with solder paste using an automatic placement machine. To ensure that the electronic components are placed properly, proper teaching and programming of each electronic component to be mounted must be performed prior running the automatic placement program. Failure to do so could cause placement accuracy problems and eventually cause problems such as missing component, wrong placement position and among others.

2. Wave soldering

 

Wave soldering is a type of soldering method which is very much similar to hand soldering but this time it is using an automated machine wherein the PCB is subjected to a molten solder tub thus inducing solder to flow through the intended PCB holes. To ensure the right amount of solder flows through the PCB holes, the appropriate wave soldering reflow profile must be performed.
